Subject: Thanks Mike and Tom
"Little Green Men" on the album "My Sanctuary" by Autamata. That is the music! Thanks to both of you. I guess the Kaiser rep that replied to my inquiry didn't want to bother finding out the answer to my question, or maybe she really didn't know. I bought the CD from 101cd.com (seems Amazon doesn't carry it right now). You know, I was laughing looking back at our posts: It seems we are the only three people in the world who like that music enough to find out what it is. Thanks again to both of you.

Subject: Absolutely perfect, Mike
You found it! Kudos to you for your diligence in finding this mysterious piece. I've passed this news on to several of my friends who also wondered where this haunting refrain originated. Finally, my wife and I can sleep at night. Thank you for your help.

Subject: Kaiser Theme for "Thrive - Entourage" commercial
Good news! You can buy the theme music if you desire. It's from Ken McHugh's group, Autamata, CD My Sanctuary, Song Title Little Green Men. The song can be downloaded at http://www.markwrafter.com/rock/mp3s/index_apr03.html The song runs 4:17 and the Kaiser theme is only the last 45 seconds. P.S. I got the song info from another Kaiser Rep. I guess it depends on who you ask :).

Subject: Kaiser theme response
Thanks to Brian for the reply. He and I are in agreement on the music in question. The tune has a very familiar ring to it and I should also mention a very similar refrain can be heard in the final film credits of "Waiting For Guffman", accompanied by hand-clapping rhythms, just as the names of the performers begins onscreen. Either this is an odd coincidence or that tune has a composer who wrote it at one time or another.

Subject: Kaiser Permanente "Thrive" commercials
I, too, like the music from the "Thrive" commercials. The commercial I like is the one featuring an Asian woman and a white man, with their doctors around them as they go into a room and close the door. The music sounds like a stringed instrument being plucked to me. Unfortunately, I contacted Kaiser Permanente and got back this reply:
"The music featured in our "Thrive" commercials was specifically written for those commercials. It does not have a title, per se, and unfortunately , is not available to the public.

Beverly Hayon
National Media Relations
Kaiser Permanente"

Too bad. I wish I could have bought that song.
I hope this helps.

Subject: Kaiser Theme
I looking for the theme to the Kaiser commercials too, but I think a different one. The music I seek is for the "entourage" commercials and is syncopated pizzicato strings. Any ideas anyone?

Subject: kaiser permanente "Thrive" theme music?
We've been going crazy trying to identify the name / composer of the music that accompanies the current Kaiser Permanente TV commercials about medical care. A slight variation of this tune is in the background as the credits roll at the end of "Waiting For Guffman". Instrumentally, in the commercial, it sounds like a harp playing a repeating melody. "dum-dum-dum, dum-dum-dum, etc.

How to insert music:

Add a bit of sheet music, along with a MIDI file, simply by entering note names in Lilypond syntax between the [L] and [/L] tags.
For example, you can try what happens if you enter: [l]g'4 g'4 d''4 d''4 e''4 e''4 d''2[/l] (use the Preview function if you don't actually want to post this).
You can create these lists of note names by clicking on piano keys here.

How to post an audio recording:

If you just want to sing, whistle, or play a melody so that other forum visitors can hear it, follow these steps:

  1. Record your audio here.
  2. You should notice a 32-character hash code, something like: 2a40281c5001c5a7d8c9f57fcdeccfaf
  3. copy this hash code and paste it into a forum post, enclosed in the audio tags, for example: [audio]2a40281c5001c5a7d8c9f57fcdeccfaf[/audio]

How to mark a thread as solved:

If the original question in a thread is solved, please mark it as solved using the "solved" icon (or by just typing [solved] into your post). This makes life easier for people who are willing to identify melodies, since unsolved problems are easier to spot that way. If a problem turns out to not be solved after all, just write [/solved] in a new post, and the thread will be labeled accordingly.
