I think I've finally found a way to prevent this from happening.
If you still see it, please let me know!

I used to use the "L" parameter to determine the language. However, for some reason unknown to me, sometimes there are URLs where right after the value for L, there is another word that is not separated with an "&", for example: ...musipedia.org/forum.0.html?L=0whistle
In such cases, I did not recognize L value correctly (here: 0 and not 0whistle), and the script as a consequence put up the logo in some other language. Now I do it in a more robust way. So, the real bug might not be fixed yet, but at least its only symptom should have disappeared.

urg. It's not doing it anymore. so I can't tell you. ha ha. I'll see if I can replicate it later and let you know. Maybe it has something to do with how I access the new posts and whether I view any of the German posts first. hmm...

Hmm - what URL do you see in the browser when that happens? Maybe I have misconfigured something with the subdomains like e. g. de.musipedia.org. But I can't reproduce the problem right now, so I am not sure where to look for the problem.

Actually, I didn't change anything. So, this problem might still be lurking somewhere. Maybe it was just some funny cache effect. I'll keep my eyes open.

It's not a big problem for me, but I noticed the Musipedia logo in the forum now links to the "Haupseite" rather than "The Open Music Encyclopedia." Some of our non-German speakers might get confused, though. :-)

You must login to post a message to this conference.

How to insert music:

Add a bit of sheet music, along with a MIDI file, simply by entering note names in Lilypond syntax between the [L] and [/L] tags.
For example, you can try what happens if you enter: [l]g'4 g'4 d''4 d''4 e''4 e''4 d''2[/l] (use the Preview function if you don't actually want to post this).
You can create these lists of note names by clicking on piano keys here.

How to post an audio recording:

If you just want to sing, whistle, or play a melody so that other forum visitors can hear it, follow these steps:

  1. Record your audio here.
  2. You should notice a 32-character hash code, something like: 2a40281c5001c5a7d8c9f57fcdeccfaf
  3. copy this hash code and paste it into a forum post, enclosed in the audio tags, for example: [audio]2a40281c5001c5a7d8c9f57fcdeccfaf[/audio]

How to mark a thread as solved:

If the original question in a thread is solved, please mark it as solved using the "solved" icon (or by just typing [solved] into your post). This makes life easier for people who are willing to identify melodies, since unsolved problems are easier to spot that way. If a problem turns out to not be solved after all, just write [/solved] in a new post, and the thread will be labeled accordingly.
