title:There Is a Fountain Filled with Blood
category:Hymns & Carols
lyrics or other text:There is a fountain filled with blood,
drawn from Emmanuel's veins.
And Sinners plunged beneath that flood
lose all their guilty stains
Lose all their guilty stains
Lose all their guilty stains
And Sinners plunged beneath that flood
lose all their guilty stains.

This is an old American folk hymn, used as a theme in some of Ives' work, and still popular in many Methodist churches in the American Southeast. It's a pentatonic melody, but until I or someone else adds a midi or notation file, the (diatonic) scale degrees are 1-3 5 6 5 8 8 6 5, 1-3 5 5 6 5 3 1 2, 1-3 5 6 5 8 8 6 5, 8-9 A 8 9 A 8, 8-9 A 8 9 A 8-6-8, 6 5 5 6-5 3-1 2, 1-3 5 6 5 8 8 6 5, 8-9 A 8 9 A 8
