Subject: also on tune pages?

that helps a lot - are you able to do it on the tune pages as well?

Cheers

Subject: Search results now printable
Hi,

there is now a link to a printable view at the bottom of the list, where you can browse a list of search results. This link always generates a printable view of the current page; if you browse to the next page, you are back in the normal view.

Hope this addresses your (and other people's) needs.

Hi David,

sounds like another good idea. I'll file a bug against myself.

Glad you like the site. There is actually only one creator of the site (if you don't count the 1000 or so registered users who work on the content and people like you who suggest useful new features).

Your previous idea is now half implemented, by the way - members can enter up to two instruments they play, as well as their geographical location. The coordinates (latitude and longitude) are automatically determined after picking a country and city.
Also, there is now a mechanism for members to communicate with each other.
What is still missing is a member search engine that would use this information, and also the information itself. For the latter, I am planning to send an e-mail to everybody pointing out the new features (but only when everything is there).

Cheers,

Rainer

any chance of setting up a printable view option that presents the page in a template for printing

At the moment I am getting the right hand side of tunes cut off due to width of the page and I don't really want to print off all the navigation stuff anyway.

Btw - congratulations to the creators of this site - I have been wondering when the wiki idea would come to music.

How to insert music:

Add a bit of sheet music, along with a MIDI file, simply by entering note names in Lilypond syntax between the [L] and [/L] tags.
For example, you can try what happens if you enter: [l]g'4 g'4 d''4 d''4 e''4 e''4 d''2[/l] (use the Preview function if you don't actually want to post this).
You can create these lists of note names by clicking on piano keys here.

How to post an audio recording:

If you just want to sing, whistle, or play a melody so that other forum visitors can hear it, follow these steps:

  1. Record your audio here.
  2. You should notice a 32-character hash code, something like: 2a40281c5001c5a7d8c9f57fcdeccfaf
  3. copy this hash code and paste it into a forum post, enclosed in the audio tags, for example: [audio]2a40281c5001c5a7d8c9f57fcdeccfaf[/audio]

How to mark a thread as solved:

If the original question in a thread is solved, please mark it as solved using the "solved" icon (or by just typing [solved] into your post). This makes life easier for people who are willing to identify melodies, since unsolved problems are easier to spot that way. If a problem turns out to not be solved after all, just write [/solved] in a new post, and the thread will be labeled accordingly.
