great, glad to hear that the code is ok. I did some further edits because the rhythm was a bit off.

cheers

glad to hear that, and thanks for entering data in such high quality!

About picking up: the theme search - unlike the polyphonic search that is used for the web midi collection - puts special emphasis on the beginning, that is, it compares the beginning of the query to the beginning of the theme.
So, if you search for

 search Musipedia for this

, you find the Pink Panther theme on the first result page.

Most people are, however, likely to search for something like

 search Musipedia for this

.
So I just copied that excerpt from your entry and saved it as an additional entry. That way, the identification works also if one picks out that part.

Thanks!
Rainer

ok nevermind for the most part, I learned the basics and fixed it myself, its much cleaner and it plays back ok. However, the content search doesn't seem to be picking it up. Could the code still be messed up somehow?

Thanks again

Frustrated for not having the search pick up on the pink panther theme, and then seeing that the existing entry only had a little bit of the theme, I set out to insert the complete melody found at http://www.wikifonia.org/node/1093#/cml_0/1 .

So I fiddled around with lilypond and its xml converter and I came up with what I inserted here: http://www.musipedia.org/edit.html?&no_cache=1&tx_detedit_pi1[tid]=ebea0e6d85a68f7b6cd90e4aa34229e3 .

The code must be messed up somehow though because it doesn't play back nor do I find it through the content search.

Could someone more lilypond knowledgeable please take a look at the code and correct it?

Otherwise the original entry was this:

% Legacy Lilypond code. To use beginner's mode, please empty this field completely and enter the melody from scratch.
{\key c\minor \time 12/8 \tempo 4 = 150 c''4 bes'8 g'4 f'8 ees'4 c'8 \bar "|" ges'16 f'4. ges'16 f'4. ges'16 f'4. ges'16 f'4. \bar "|" [ ees'8 c' bes ] c'4 c'8~ c'2 }

Thanks in advance

How to insert music:

Add a bit of sheet music, along with a MIDI file, simply by entering note names in Lilypond syntax between the [L] and [/L] tags.
For example, you can try what happens if you enter: [l]g'4 g'4 d''4 d''4 e''4 e''4 d''2[/l] (use the Preview function if you don't actually want to post this).
You can create these lists of note names by clicking on piano keys here.

How to post an audio recording:

If you just want to sing, whistle, or play a melody so that other forum visitors can hear it, follow these steps:

  1. Record your audio here.
  2. You should notice a 32-character hash code, something like: 2a40281c5001c5a7d8c9f57fcdeccfaf
  3. copy this hash code and paste it into a forum post, enclosed in the audio tags, for example: [audio]2a40281c5001c5a7d8c9f57fcdeccfaf[/audio]

How to mark a thread as solved:

If the original question in a thread is solved, please mark it as solved using the "solved" icon (or by just typing [solved] into your post). This makes life easier for people who are willing to identify melodies, since unsolved problems are easier to spot that way. If a problem turns out to not be solved after all, just write [/solved] in a new post, and the thread will be labeled accordingly.
