Subject: Your tune is a folk song: "Early one morning...

Your tune is a folk song whose lyrics are:
Early one morning, just as the sun was rising,
I heard a maid singing in the valley below.
"Oh don't deceive me, oh never leave me,
How can you use a poor maiden so?"

This melody was used as a children's tv show theme song. The name of the show was entitled " The Friendly Giant" and was aired on CBC. (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.)
The tv show itself ran for 28 years on from 1958 to 1985.

The above melody is being whistled.
It is from a movie soundtrack ... Maybe a western.. not sure.

The time signature is 3/4
the key i wrote it in is Bb.

The Chord progression goes like this:
Cm7 on the first c note.
dm7 on the 3rd c note
ebmaj7 on the 4th c note
F7 on the last c note being the 6th one.
Actually it is being whistled without accompaniement but the progression outlined above is the general feel that i get.

Add a bit of sheet music, along with a MIDI file, simply by entering note names in Lilypond syntax between the [L] and [/L] tags.
For example, you can try what happens if you enter: [l]g'4 g'4 d''4 d''4 e''4 e''4 d''2[/l] (use the Preview function if you don't actually want to post this).
You can create these lists of note names by clicking on piano keys here.
