You probably mean the Pas des deux from The Nutcracker (No.14 in the score). You may also find the piano transcription by Pletnev - in this case look for Andante maestoso.

I've been haunted by a classical piece that I probably last listened to when I was about 10 - I'm now 29. I thought it was an interlude from Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty, but I have since searched every recording I can find, to no avail. It is full of yearning and sadness to begin with, ending more triumphantly, but the same simple melody is repeated throughout, just being transposed a couple of times as the mood changes. I think it was strings, by the way, playing the main theme.

How to insert music:
Add a bit of sheet music, along with a MIDI file, simply by entering note names in Lilypond syntax between the [L] and [/L] tags.
For example, you can try what happens if you enter: [l]g'4 g'4 d''4 d''4 e''4 e''4 d''2[/l] (use the Preview function if you don't actually want to post this).
You can create these lists of note names by clicking on piano keys here.
How to post an audio recording:
If you just want to sing, whistle, or play a melody so that other forum visitors can hear it, follow these steps:
- Record your audio here.
