Subject: A little golden locket
My husband has been trying to find this record for many years. I would like to find it and give it to him as a surprise on his 70th birthday.
Does anyone know where I can find a recording of this song:

There's a little golden locket
I keep it in my pocket
A souvenire that money couldn't buy
The one I love once wore it
And that's why I adore it
She left and never said goodbye
She was sweet and only twenty
And i guess I loved her plenty
The bright lights took her head
She went away...........

Thanks a lot. I can finally stop looking, maybe. I know you said "rap" but wasn't it done on a record by some well known artist? Or is there music that goes with it?

THE THREE BEARS RAP
Once upon a time in a wee little cottage
There were three bears %G–%@ cha cha cha
One was the papa bear and one was the mama bear
And one was the wee bear %G–%@ cha cha
One day they were walking in the deep woods talking
And along, along , along came a little girl with blond hair
Her name was Goldie Locks and upon the door she knocks,
But no one was there, no, no one was there
So she walked right in, had herself a ball
She didn$B!G(Bt care, no she didn$B!G(Bt care
When she got tired she went upstairs,
Home, home, home came the three bears %G–%@ cha cha cha
Someone$B!G(Bs been eatin$B!G(B my porrige
Said the papa bear %G–%@ cha
Someone$B!G(Bs been eatin$B!G(B my porrige
Said the mama bear %G–%@ cha
Hey babaree-bear said the little wee bear
Someone has broken my chair! Clap
Just then Goldie Locks woke up and broke up
The story and she beat it outta there
Good bye bye, bye said the papa bear and
Good bye bye, bye said the mama bear and
Hey babaree bear said the little wee bear
So ends the story of the three little bears
Da na na na na na na na na na na Na na na Na Yeah!.

Does anyone remember this song? "Once upon a time in a wee little cottage there were three bears. One was the papa bear, one was the momma bear and one was baby bear". It had to be in the 50's and I remember those two lines very well and even the tune. I have searched for years to find it with no luck.

How to insert music:

Add a bit of sheet music, along with a MIDI file, simply by entering note names in Lilypond syntax between the [L] and [/L] tags.
For example, you can try what happens if you enter: [l]g'4 g'4 d''4 d''4 e''4 e''4 d''2[/l] (use the Preview function if you don't actually want to post this).
You can create these lists of note names by clicking on piano keys here.

How to post an audio recording:

If you just want to sing, whistle, or play a melody so that other forum visitors can hear it, follow these steps:

  1. Record your audio here.
  2. You should notice a 32-character hash code, something like: 2a40281c5001c5a7d8c9f57fcdeccfaf
  3. copy this hash code and paste it into a forum post, enclosed in the audio tags, for example: [audio]2a40281c5001c5a7d8c9f57fcdeccfaf[/audio]

How to mark a thread as solved:

If the original question in a thread is solved, please mark it as solved using the "solved" icon (or by just typing [solved] into your post). This makes life easier for people who are willing to identify melodies, since unsolved problems are easier to spot that way. If a problem turns out to not be solved after all, just write [/solved] in a new post, and the thread will be labeled accordingly.
